A Note from Mike Donahue
The Potential of IT in Healthcare
Now more than ever, the focus on customer service within healthcare organizations has become indispensable.
Patients are no longer just recipients of medical care; they have evolved into informed consumers who expect personalized experiences, efficient communication, and exceptional care.
The quality of customer service has a profound impact on patient satisfaction, loyalty, and, ultimately, the success of healthcare providers.
In addition to patients, you are also charged with serving internal customers that leverage the IT platforms you spend countless (and sometimes thankless) hours maintaining and optimizing for your business and clinical users.
In parallel, healthcare IT is pivotal in transforming and optimizing patient care. From EHRs to telemedicine platforms and artificial intelligence, technology enables healthcare providers to streamline operations, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and improve patient outcomes. However, the true potential of IT in healthcare lies in its ability to enhance customer service by enabling seamless communication, personalized care plans, and efficient management and security of patient data.
Similar to how we have seen the shift in patient care, IT is on a similar journey where outcomes are measured and used to optimize operations. Senior executives are asking these questions like these.: What is the historical uptime for our IT systems? How many security threats have we contained without a breach? Can you prove that we are able to recover in a disaster, and that our disaster recovery plan is tested and actionable? The how isn’t important, but the outcome and resulting risk mitigation to the organization are imperative.
By blending the worlds of exceptional customer service and healthcare IT, we can create a healthcare ecosystem that is truly patient-centric and empowers individuals to participate actively in their well-being. Integrating these two domains fosters meaningful relationships between patients and healthcare providers, leading to improved engagement, trust, and, ultimately, better health outcomes.
CloudWave is a true believer that our solutions provide our customers with the ability to better balance the ever-changing landscape and requirements of their internal and external customers. Our strong emphasis on collaboration and partnerships enables us to deliver highly available and secure services and enables you to serve your customers better.

CloudWave Launches New CloudCare+
Fully-Managed Patching Service for Healthcare
CloudWave is excited to offer a new fully-managed patching service for healthcare.
Research showed that 57% of hospitals that suffered cyberattacks stated that their breaches could have been prevented if they had installed an available patch.
Utilizing the proven CloudCare+ patch maintenance strategy, healthcare enterprises can prevent cyberattacks, as well as performance slowdowns and regulatory compliance issues.
CloudCare+ solves these challenges with a skilled service team that utilizes a proven process throughout the entire patching cycle. This enables healthcare IT teams to take a hands-off approach to maintenance while CloudWave keeps the environment compliant and secured against cyber threats.
Advance Authorization Now Available
CloudWave is pleased to offer a new way to streamline how we deliver changes to your OpSus Cloud Services.
Delaying the implementation of service change requests while waiting on a signature can delay addressing small issues that can lead to bigger problems.
CloudWave now provides a way for our cloud customers to mitigate the administrative burden of these requests by allowing key personnel to pre-approve routine change orders.
One signature enables the smooth and timely execution of routine changes and minor updates.

Meet Kelly Fernandez
Project Manager
Many CloudWave employees have spent their careers in healthcare IT.
“After spending time in hospitals and seeing the challenges they face with staffing and budgeting to keep up with technological demands, it was exciting to see how a company like CloudWave partners with healthcare providers to meet those demands effectively”
Before coming to CloudWave in 2019, Kelly spent over 17 years at CHI St. Luke’s Health in Houston, immersed in IT implementation, analysis, support, project management, and staff management. Holding positions including Director of the PMO Office, Enterprise Application Architect, Project Leader, and Senior Analyst, Kelly ultimately rose to program manager, overseeing ten project managers across the nation.
As a project manager with CloudWave, Kelly works with healthcare providers on projects including infrastructure migrations, implementations, and upgrades. She serves as a liaison between customers and CloudWave’s technical staff and works to keep the timelines on track and resolve any issues that may pop up along the way.
“I really enjoy working with people at so many different healthcare organizations all over the country and the world – there’s always something new and different!”
Outside of CloudWave, Kelly’s biggest focus is her family, which keeps her and her husband Manuel “hopping.” Her son Connor and daughter-in-law Rawa have two young daughters. Elise is 2 ½, and Yasmine just turned three months.
“Seeing children from a new perspective as a grandparent is wonderful and just a little exhausting! How fast they grow and change is amazing!”
When asked what she likes most about working in healthcare, Kelly responds,
“I have never been a clinician, but I have always felt my work in healthcare IT contributed vicariously to the care clinical staff provide to their patients. It’s rewarding to help them help others.”
