CloudWave, the expert in healthcare data security and the largest independent software hosting provider in healthcare, has acquired Sensato Cybersecurity. CloudWave has been delivering secure IT services to the healthcare market via the cloud for more than a decade. The company is 100% focused on healthcare, with more than 250 hospital environments currently managed in the public and OpSus private cloud.
What are the plans for integrating the two companies?
Over the next six months, CloudWave will roll out the CloudWave Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service platform across its OpSus cloud environment. This change will be seamless for customers. In addition, the companies’ front-line call centers will be consolidated so that customers have a single support number to call for their security and hosting needs.
Sensato’s founder John Gomez will join CloudWave as chief security and engineering officer and maintain responsibility for cybersecurity operations and continued development of the proprietary Sensato Cybersecurity suite.
What will happen to Sensato’s current customers?
Except for the change in the service desk number, there will be no changes for Sensato’s customers. John Gomez will continue to provide leadership, oversight, and vision for Sensato solutions and the CloudWave Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service suite. The great team in the Sensato Cybersecurity Tactical Operations Center (CTOC) will continue their work protecting your environment.
What will happen to Sensato’s technology?
Sensato’s technology will be merged into CloudWave as its Cybersecurity-as-a-Service offering. CloudWave will fully implement the CloudWave Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service platform across its OpSus Cloud environment and offer managed Cybersecurity-as-a-Service to its clients and the healthcare market. The capabilities of the Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service suite will further enhance customers’ ability to deter, prevent, and mitigate these evolving cyber threats.
What is the CloudWave Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service platform?
The CloudWave Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service platform is a proprietary custom-built cybersecurity platform that combines components of commercially available software with bespoke software, integration, and configuration system. The combination of the CTOC and the ability for customization creates a platform to meet the specific needs of the healthcare environment at a price point that is viable for small and mid-sized hospitals and health systems.
The CloudWave Sensato Cybersecurity-as-a-Service platform provides capabilities found in commercial VTM, SIEM, and SOAR products, as well as the advanced detection capabilities seen in an XDR product. It utilizes proprietary HIDS and NIDS to monitor networks at an enterprise level to detect cyber threats. In addition, it utilizes custom-built honeypot technology to identify malevolent actors that have gained access to a hospital’s system. Finally, it is designed to extend the security environment to include internet-enabled and vulnerable medical devices.
Will CloudWave offer security services in addition to its Managed Security Services?
Yes, just as Sensato does currently, CloudWave will continue to offer project-based security services such as Risk Assessments (NIST, HIPAA, or C2M2), Tabletop Exercises, and Pen Testing.
